Devon: A dad named Christopher Taylor is back home after a tough time in Portugal. He had to wait 11 days for his travel insurance to sort out his flight after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.

It all started when Christopher, 62, collapsed during a Christmas walk with his family. He thought he was fine but woke up the next day nearly paralyzed. His brother found him and rushed him to the hospital.

Doctors in Portugal delivered the heartbreaking news about the tumor. His family wanted him back in the UK for treatment, but dealing with the insurance company was a nightmare. They said it felt like a daily battle just to get help.

Things got really scary when Christopher’s health took a turn for the worse while waiting for his flight. Thankfully, he stabilized overnight, and his family kept pushing the insurance company to get him home.

Finally, on January 6, he flew back to Bristol Airport, where he was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. It was a long wait for a bed, but at least he was back in the UK.

His family is grateful for the help they received but is furious with Staysure, the insurance company. They claim the company was slow to respond and didn’t communicate well during the whole process.

Christopher’s brother Michael flew out to help and said that if they hadn’t been so persistent, they might still be waiting for help. They’re thankful for everyone who supported them, including the Foreign Office and the hospital staff in Portugal.

Now, they’re just hoping for good news about Christopher’s health as they navigate this tough time together.
