New York: Just three days after she said goodbye to Barstool Sports, Grace O’Malley is now part of Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network. It’s a big change for her, especially after some drama with Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, her former podcast partner.

O’Malley’s move comes after a rocky friendship with LaPaglia, who she co-hosted the podcast PlanBri Uncut with. The two had a falling out that led to the end of their show, which was pretty popular.

On Thursday, Unwell celebrated O’Malley’s arrival with a fun Instagram post, welcoming her to the team. Cooper, who used to be a big name at Barstool, hinted at this collaboration on TikTok just days after O’Malley confirmed she was leaving Barstool for good.

Things got messy between O’Malley and LaPaglia, especially after LaPaglia talked about her breakup with country singer Zach Bryan on the BFFs podcast. She mentioned that their relationship had a negative impact on her friendships, including with O’Malley.

Looking back, O’Malley’s exit from Barstool and her new role at Unwell is a fresh start for her. It’s interesting to see how everything unfolded, especially with the friendships and decisions that led to this point.

O’Malley joined Barstool in 2022, and the podcast quickly gained traction, even making Spotify’s Breakout Creators list. But behind the scenes, things weren’t as smooth, and the podcast ended in October.

LaPaglia had mentioned wanting to bring back some version of PlanBri, but O’Malley was caught off guard by that. She thought they were on the same page about ending the podcast, but it seems there were some miscommunications.

O’Malley later expressed that the decision to end the podcast wasn’t mutual, although she acknowledged it might have been for the best. LaPaglia, on the other hand, felt differently and claimed they had been in constant communication about it.

Things got even more complicated with LaPaglia’s relationship with Bryan, which she described as emotionally abusive. This strain affected her friendship with O’Malley, leading to some hurt feelings and misunderstandings.

After O’Malley announced her departure from Barstool, she thanked everyone for the opportunity. Meanwhile, LaPaglia was still dealing with the fallout from her relationship and the podcast drama.

Now, as O’Malley steps into her new role at Unwell, it’ll be interesting to see what’s next for both her and LaPaglia. O’Malley is moving forward, while LaPaglia is reportedly working on a new version of their podcast.
