London: So, the Golden Globes 2025 just wrapped up, and while there weren’t any UK winners in the film categories, the Netflix miniseries Baby Reindeer really stole the show in the TV section.
It snagged the award for best limited series, and Richard Gadd, the writer and creator, was there to accept it. How cool is that?
Plus, Jessica Gunning won best TV supporting actress for her role as Martha Scott. Talk about a double whammy for Baby Reindeer!
And let me tell you, the award photos from Baby Reindeer are just the best. You can check them out on Twitter!
Now, Baby Reindeer is based on Gadd’s own one-man show, which dives into some pretty intense stuff, like dealing with a female stalker. It’s a wild ride.
After winning, Gadd shared some thoughts on why his dark show resonated with so many people. He mentioned that folks are really looking for stories that reflect the messy side of being human.
He said, “We need stories that speak to the complicated and difficult nature of our times.” And honestly, he’s got a point. With everything going on in the world, it’s nice to see shows that tackle real issues.
In her speech, Gunning shared a sweet story about getting a hamster for Christmas as a kid. She said it felt surreal, and that phrase has been her “soundtrack” this year.
She thanked Gadd, saying Baby Reindeer changed her life in ways she couldn’t even explain. You could really feel the emotion in her words.
Oh, and let’s not forget about Colin Farrell! He won his third Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Miniseries for playing the Penguin in an HBO series. Big night for him too!
On the film side, Demi Moore took home Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role in The Substance. Other winners included Emilia Pérez, The Brutalist, and Wicked. Quite the lineup!
