Glasgow: A councillor is in court this week for stalking charges. The hearing is on Wednesday at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
The councillor, who has served since 2007, represents the Anderston/City/Yorkhill ward. He previously led the Strathclyde Police Authority.
He was a Labour councillor but has been suspended pending the case’s outcome. The Crown Office confirmed the case will be called on February 5.
Police Scotland reported that a 48-year-old man was arrested on October 23, 2024. He was charged with stalking offences, and a report was sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
