Southport: A heartbreaking story has emerged about a 12-year-old girl named Semina Halliwell. She told her mum she didn’t want the boy who allegedly hurt her to get away with it. It’s just so tragic.

Semina had been through a lot. She was allegedly groomed and raped by an older boy, and it really took a toll on her. She confided in her mum, saying she wanted to forget about it but also wanted to take action. It’s such a tough spot for a kid to be in.

Sadly, Semina passed away in June 2021 after taking an overdose. This happened just days after she had been feeling overwhelmed by the harassment she faced following the incident. Her mum described her as a happy girl before everything changed when she moved to secondary school.

During the inquest, some really painful messages from Semina were shared. She expressed feeling so much pain and just wanting to be happy again. It’s heartbreaking to think about what she was going through.

Her mum, Rachel, shared that Semina had been in contact with the boy since she was just 11. They had talked about reporting the incident, but Semina felt torn. She didn’t want to let her mum down, but she also didn’t want the boy to get away with it.

The inquest revealed that Semina had been bullied and harassed by other kids, which only added to her struggles. It’s just so sad to see how much she was hurting. She even made videos expressing her feelings, showing how lost she felt.

Semina had been known to mental health services for a while, but unfortunately, she didn’t get the support she needed in the months leading up to her death. It’s a tragic reminder of how important it is to look out for our kids and ensure they get the help they need. The inquest is still ongoing, and it’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
