Irlam: So, there’s been a pretty alarming incident in Irlam. An 11-year-old girl was grabbed by a man and a woman while she was on her way to school. Thankfully, she managed to escape and tell an adult what happened.

This all went down on Silver Street around 8:30 am on Tuesday, January 14. The police think the suspects were driving around in a car and a van, but they haven’t said who was in which vehicle.

The man is described as white, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with short dark hair. He was clean-shaven and wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. The woman was also white and was dressed in leggings and a black hoodie.

As for the vehicles, the car was a black four-door model, and the van was small, white, and looked pretty new with a sliding door.

Police are asking folks in the area to check their dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from that time. If anyone saw anything suspicious, they really want to hear from you.

Greater Manchester Police have even sent extra officers to the area to help reassure the community while they investigate. Detective Inspector Justin Bryant mentioned that this is a concerning situation and they’re doing everything they can to look into it.

He’s urging anyone with information or footage to come forward, as it could really help their investigation. They’re also making sure the girl and her family are being supported during this tough time.
