Yaneliz Munguia, Miami, Florida, New Year’s Eve, Stray Bullet, Celebratory Gunfire

Miami: It’s such a heartbreaking story. A 10-year-old girl named Yaneliz Munguia was shot by a stray bullet while her family was lighting fireworks for New Year’s Eve. Can you believe that?

This happened in Allapattah, Florida, just as the clock struck midnight. Yaneliz was hit in the back of the head by what police are calling “celebratory gunfire.” Her family was just having a good time when everything turned tragic.

When she suddenly collapsed, her parents rushed to check on her. They found a wound and immediately called 911. It’s just so awful. She was taken to the Jackson Ryder Trauma Center, but sadly, she didn’t make it.

Now, the police are on the hunt for whoever fired that bullet. They’re saying it came from an unknown location, which makes it even more frustrating. Yaneliz had just turned 10 days before this happened, and now her family is left heartbroken.

Her grandfather shared how much he loved seeing her and how hard it is to think about not seeing her again. It’s just gut-wrenching. Her dad said she was the most beautiful girl and that he’ll never have another like her.

To help find justice for Yaneliz, police are asking anyone with information to come forward. They’re even offering a $5,000 reward for tips that lead to an arrest. It’s a tough reminder that bullets fired into the air can have deadly consequences.

If anyone knows anything, they should reach out to Miami-Dade & The Florida Keys Crime Stoppers. It’s just so tragic, and my heart goes out to her family.
