Gillingham: So, there’s this guy, Thomas Vachlenko, who really didn’t like being arrested. He spat, bit, and even headbutted the police when they tried to cuff him. Not cool, right?
He had a couple of run-ins with the law. The first one was back in August when he was at his old place in Chatham. He tried to bite one officer and headbutted another. When a third officer came to help, he spat right in their face. Yikes!
Then, in September, he was at it again in Gillingham. This time, he bit a Special Constable on the hand. That’s gotta hurt! He ended up in court for four counts of assault on emergency workers.
Oh, and let’s not forget about the barbecue he stole from The Range. It was worth about £85. He just walked out with it like it was no big deal. The prosecutor mentioned that he was just being a pain during his arrests.
During the court hearing, they talked about how he had issues with alcohol. Apparently, he was spending around £300 a month on booze. His lawyer said he was embarrassed and that he was drunk during those incidents.
In the end, the magistrates weren’t having any of it. They gave him a 12-month community order, which means he has to do 200 hours of unpaid work and attend 20 rehab sessions. Plus, he’s got to wear an alcohol monitoring tag for 12 weeks.
He also has to pay back the money for the barbecue and some compensation to the officers he assaulted. It’s a tough lesson, but hopefully, he’ll get his act together.
