Milwaukee: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are big names in the NBA, perfect for the Christmas Day games. But guess what? They won’t be playing this year, and the Bucks are not happy about it.
Giannis shared his thoughts with The Athletic, saying he’s a bit upset about being left out. He wonders if it’s because they’re in a smaller market. He thinks there’s some kind of algorithm that decides which teams get the spotlight on Christmas.
Khris Middleton, who’s been with the Bucks for six Christmas games, also feels let down. He said it’s disappointing because Christmas is a huge day for the NBA. But he’s also looking on the bright side, as he can now enjoy the day with his family and kids.
Brook Lopez took it further, calling the snub disrespectful. He pointed out that there are plenty of games on Christmas, so it’s surprising the Bucks weren’t chosen.
Giannis is definitely feeling the sting of not playing. But he’s also finding a silver lining. He’s excited to spend Christmas like a regular person for the first time since 2017. He can kick back, relax, and enjoy the day with his family.
So, while the Bucks are bummed about missing out, they’re also looking forward to a cozy holiday at home. It’s not so bad after all!
