Armley: A parent has joined forces with Team Daniel to create GCSE revision sessions. This initiative aims to support students in their studies.

Team Daniel is a charity from Leeds. It was founded in 2017 after the tragic loss of Daniel Oliver. He struggled with the stress of his GCSE exams.

The charity raises awareness about mental health support for young people. One of their projects is a GCSE revision hub in Gildersome.

Jo Gittins, a local mum, noticed her daughter needed help with revision. She started small sessions in Armley to provide that support.

Seeing the growing need, Jo teamed up with Team Daniel. Together, they launched a new GCSE revision group at Christ Church Upper Armley.

This group is free and offers laptops, Wi-Fi, and plenty of revision materials. Snacks and refreshments are also available during sessions.

The revision sessions have become popular with both students and volunteers. Grace, a regular attendee, shared how the hub helps her focus better on subjects like Maths and Science.

Volunteers Nicki Watkinson and Claire Murphy emphasized the importance of support in education. They believe extra help can guide students toward their goals.

Jo encourages everyone to spread the word about the hub. She believes it can make a real difference, especially for those facing mental health challenges.

The Armley Revision Hub meets every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 PM at Christ Church on Armley Ridge Road. It’s open to all young people in the LS12 area studying for their GCSEs.
