Massachusetts: Gas prices are on a bit of a rollercoaster ride lately. They dropped for the second week in a row, now sitting at an average of $2.97 per gallon. Last week, it was $2.98, so not a huge change, but hey, every little bit helps, right?
Interestingly, prices have crept up about 2 cents since last month. If we look back a year, prices have fluctuated quite a bit. They hit a low of $2.95 last November and peaked at $3.76 in August this year. Quite the range!
Just a year ago, folks were paying about 7% more, with the average at $3.19 per gallon. So, it seems like we’re getting a bit of a break now.
For some context, the average gas price across the U.S. last week was $3.02. That means Massachusetts prices are about 1.5% lower than the national average. Not too shabby!
