Stoke-on-Trent: Families are really worried about the rise of drug dealers and gangs in their area. Residents near Hanley Park have been vocal about their concerns.
This week, Staffordshire Police are setting up a mobile station in Shelton. This will help more families share their worries. The police heard these issues while patrolling around Hanley Park and nearby streets.
During this patrol, they teamed up with an anti-social behaviour officer from the city council. They even spotted and cleared some fly-tipping in an alley off Conway Street.
Residents mentioned drug-dealing, drug-taking, littering, and gangs hanging around as their main worries. The latest crime stats for Hanley Park and Shelton show 78 violent offences, 25 anti-social behaviour incidents, and more in November. Thankfully, this is a drop compared to September and October.
The mobile police station will be in the area on Wednesday, January 15, giving locals a chance to voice their concerns.
