Los Angeles: So, there’s this wild new game called Date Everything! It started as a joke about a lonely remote worker chatting with their furniture. Can you believe it? The voice actors Ray Chase and Robbie Daymond got totally hooked on the idea. They thought, what if you could actually date everything around you?

Now, this game has over 70,000 lines of dialogue and a bunch of quirky objects you can date. They teamed up with Team 17 and Amanda Hufford to make this silly concept a reality. It’s described as wholesome and fun, and honestly, it sounds like a blast!

You might be curious about how it all works. Players wear these VR glasses called Dateviators, which turn your boring old furniture into chatty, dateable characters. Imagine flirting with a dishwasher!

Robbie Daymond mentioned they wanted to keep it wholesome and not embarrassing. They’ve got all sorts of characters, from a microwave who thinks it’s in an interdimensional war to a fireplace that’s all about pickup lines. Each one is voiced by a different actor, making them all uniquely entertaining.

What’s cool is they’re also treating their voice actors right. They’ve got a good relationship with SAG and made sure the actors get residuals. With clever writing and great voice acting, you’ll want to meet every quirky appliance in the game.

Believe it or not, this idea came about back in 2018, long before the pandemic. Draymond thought people might relate to the boredom of remote work. It’s amazing that something so surreal is actually happening!

Even the game’s coder, Jack, was skeptical at first but was impressed by the care put into each character. It’s refreshing to see a game that’s not just the same old thing.

Mark your calendars! Date Everything is set to launch on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox on February 14, 2025.
