Cardiff: Visitors were excited to explore the National Museum Cardiff. But they were disappointed when it suddenly closed without any warning.

The museum, which sees over 528,000 visitors each year, posted a notice. It said it would remain closed “until further notice” due to maintenance and safety issues.

Many had pre-booked tickets for the Strike! Exhibition. Some visitors complained online about the lack of information regarding the closure.

One visitor expressed frustration after paying for admission just before the closure. They noted that the museum’s website had no updates about the sudden shutdown.

Others shared their disappointment on social media. They highlighted the importance of the museum for local schools and children.

A museum spokesperson assured the public that they are working to resolve the issues quickly. They emphasized the need for safety and minimal disruption to visitors.

The museum is contacting those affected by the closure to offer rescheduling or refunds. They also suggested visiting St Fagans National Museum of History in the meantime.
