Bedwas: People are really upset after two dogs were found abandoned on a freezing mountainside. These poor German Shepherds were left there, and a guy saw someone just drive off after dumping them.
It took a group of folks over two hours to catch the scared pups. They finally got them to a rescue center. The dogs were described as terrified, underweight, and with matted fur. It’s heartbreaking to think about what they went through.
A rescue worker from Hope Rescue said that if anyone is struggling to care for their pets, they should reach out for help. It’s better than letting animals suffer alone.
Ryan Dinapoli, who helped rescue the dogs, was in the area with his own pets when he saw a social media post asking for help. He met up with the guy who spotted the dogs and they all worked together to catch them.
When they arrived, the dogs looked really malnourished and scared. They were so frightened that they wouldn’t come near anyone. But with a little teamwork, they managed to corner them and slowly gain their trust.
Ryan, who has four dogs himself, was really moved by the whole situation. He said it was devastating to see the dogs in such bad shape, especially in those icy conditions. But in the end, they got the dogs to safety.
After the rescue, the dogs were taken to Hope Rescue in Pontyclun. The staff there said the dogs need a lot of grooming and care, but they’re hopeful they’ll recover fully.
They named the black female dog Lois and the tan male dog Clark. They’re really bonded and will likely need to be adopted together once they’re ready.
Sadly, this isn’t the first case of abandoned animals this year. The rescue center has already seen a couple of other dogs in poor condition. They’re urging anyone who can’t care for their pets to reach out for help before it gets to this point.
Hope Rescue is also looking for information about how these dogs ended up on the mountain. If anyone knows anything, they can contact the rescue center. It’s great to see the community come together to help these animals, and hopefully, they’ll find loving homes soon.
