Burtonwood: A fundraiser has kicked off to help a local stable hit hard by the New Year’s Day floods. The flooding caused a lot of damage, and it’s been tough for everyone involved.
Warrington saw around 140 people forced to leave their homes due to the severe weather. But it wasn’t just the people who suffered; the stables where nine horses live were also badly affected.
On New Year’s Eve, the horses had to be moved to higher ground as the water rose. Now, they’re stuck in the upper stables with no other options. Sadly, most of the chickens at the stables didn’t make it through the flooding.
The barn is in ruins, and a lot of essential supplies like food and blankets were damaged. To help with the recovery, Martyna Bartosz has started a fundraising campaign.
She shared how the flooding has wrecked their supplies, saying, “We’ve lost everything we need to care for our horses.” It’s a tough situation, and they’re looking for any help they can get.
Martyna emphasized that every little bit counts. The goal is to raise £3,000, and they’ve already gathered nearly £200 since launching the campaign. If you’re interested in helping out, there’s a way to donate.
