South Gloucestershire: The council has a new plan for housing. They aim to build 22,573 homes from 2026 to 2041. This includes 90 sites for about 12,000 new homes. These sites don’t have planning permission yet.

Most of the new homes will be in the North and East Fringe near Bristol. Some of this land is currently greenbelt. The rest of the homes will be spread across towns and villages. There are also over 7,300 homes already planned, like the Brabazon neighborhood.

The council’s cabinet will approve these plans soon. After that, there will be a full council vote and a public consultation. Feedback will be sent to planning inspectors for review next year. The list of new sites is available for more details.

Here are some of the new sites: Lyde Green Road in Emersons Green will have 60 homes. Lucas Works in Kingswood will have 100. The former Grange School in Warmley will have 161 homes. There are many more sites planned across the area.

In Thornbury, there are plans for 75 homes behind the former health center. Yate Town Centre will see 200 new homes. The plan also includes areas in rural villages, with smaller developments scattered throughout.

Overall, this plan aims to meet the growing housing needs in South Gloucestershire. It’s a big step towards providing more homes for residents in the coming years.
