Nettleham: So, there’s been a bit of a stir over this housing project. They’re adding nearly 30 more homes to the estate on Cricketers’ Walk, and folks are not happy about the delays. Originally, they were supposed to build 80 homes, but now it’s up to 107. Can you believe it?

The councillors are really frustrated. They’ve seen over 30 changes to the plans since they were first approved back in 2017. The developer, Truelove Property & Construction Ltd, initially wanted to build just 68 homes. It’s been a long wait, and people are feeling the pinch.

Councillor Tom Smith shared his thoughts, saying he’s not against the changes but is really annoyed with how slow everything is moving. It’s 2025, and only a bit of the work is done. He thinks the government should set clear timelines for developers to follow. It’s like they’re stuck in a loop of indecision.

Residents are also worried about the impact of all these new homes. Councillor Angela White pointed out that the increase from 68 to 107 homes is going to put a strain on local services like the medical center, schools, and even traffic. Plus, there’s been flooding and sewer issues lately, which isn’t helping the situation.

Another councillor, John Barrett, mentioned that while the homes look great, the constant changes are confusing for everyone involved. The developer didn’t show up to the meeting, but they’ve claimed their design is top-notch. Still, the community is saying “enough is enough” when it comes to more houses without the necessary infrastructure.

Residents have been vocal about needing better roads and affordable housing options. It’s clear they want to see some real improvements before any more homes go up.
