Montreal: So, guess what? The polar vortex is making its way back to North America, and it’s bringing some seriously cold air with it. Eastern Canada, especially Quebec, is in for a real chill.

We’re talking about some of the coldest temps in years. Right now, cities are already seeing temperatures drop into the -20s, but it’s about to get even colder as the polar vortex moves east.

Starting Sunday, Quebec will feel the bite, with daytime highs around the negative teens. By Monday night, we could be looking at -20s. Yikes!

Remember the last time Montreal hit -20 C? You’d have to go back to early 2023. And for Halifax, it’s been even longer—since January 6, 2018, to be exact. That’s a significant cold snap!

Atlantic Canada will enjoy a mild weekend, but don’t get too comfy. The cold is rolling in by Monday morning, and northern New Brunswick could see wind chills dipping into the -30s. Brrr!

Newfoundland will start feeling the chill late Monday night, with temps in the negative single digits and wind chills in the upper minus teens. Stay warm out there!
