Stockton: A woman is really worried about her boyfriend, who’s stuck in a freezing segregation unit at Holme House prison. Natalie Hannan says Amar Magid, 36, is feeling the chill because the heating is out. She mentioned he’s been crying on the phone, saying he can’t feel his feet.

It’s pretty rough. Natalie claims he’s only got a t-shirt and a jacket, and they won’t let him have his warm clothes. She’s frustrated because his jumpers and socks are locked away. The prison says they’re giving out extra blankets, but it doesn’t sound like enough.

With the weather being so cold lately, it’s a tough situation. Natalie said the radiators aren’t working on one side of the segregation block, making it even worse. She’s been really stressed about him since they met on Snapchat about 15 months ago.

Amar was moved to segregation after a search found drugs in his cell. He’s been in prison since August 2022 for drug-related charges. Natalie’s been pleading with the guards to help him, and one even noticed how cold it was and gave him another blanket. But she says the blankets are thin, and he’s still freezing.

Amar’s got a tough road ahead. He’s not due to be released until December 16 this year. He was previously released in April 2023 but got recalled for breaking his license conditions. It’s a lot for both of them to handle, and she just wants him to be warm and safe.
