Scottsdale: A man named Richard Davidson, 52, from Fountain Hills, got himself into some serious trouble. He was arrested after allegedly tossing a kid off their e-bike and even trying to run another one over with his car.
This all went down on a Friday near Via Linda and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. Court records say Davidson pulled two minors off their e-bikes, and it was all caught on video. He was seen throwing an e-bike onto the road and chasing one of the kids until they fell.
When questioned, Davidson told the police he was frustrated with the kids riding in the road. One of the minors tried to call for help, but Davidson snatched the phone away. He even took both kids’ phones, claiming he would call their parents but never gave them back.
As he drove off, he aimed his car at one of the kids still on the street. After the incident, police found him not too far away, near 124th Street and East Cochise Drive.
When asked why he didn’t just report the kids, Davidson said he had called before but joked that “fourth time’s the charm.” He also mentioned he didn’t like kids on e-bikes and had even moved away from Scottsdale because of them.
Now, Davidson is facing five felony charges, including robbery and aggravated assault on a minor. It’s a pretty serious situation for him.
