Oakland: It’s a sad day for the Raiders family. Morris Bradshaw, who played and worked with the team for years, has died at 72. The team shared the news on Friday, and you could feel the heartbreak in their words.
They called him a treasured friend and a big part of the Raider Nation. The team sent their love and prayers to his family, especially to his wife, Debbie. It’s tough to lose someone who meant so much to so many.
Morris was drafted by the Raiders back in 1974 after playing at Ohio State. He spent eight seasons with them, had a brief stint in New England, and even played in the USFL for a bit. He was a wide receiver and made quite an impact on the field.
He played in 112 NFL games, starting 31 of them, and racked up impressive stats with 90 catches for over 1,400 yards and 12 touchdowns. Plus, he was part of two Super Bowl-winning teams, which is a huge deal!
After hanging up his cleats, Morris didn’t leave the Raiders. He came back as an administrator in 1989 and worked there for nearly 30 years. He was known as a mentor and a friend to everyone around him. He truly left a mark on the organization.
