London: So, here’s the scoop. A former doctor from the Metropolitan Police, Dr. Suzanne Lucey, is in some hot water. She’s pleaded not guilty to stalking Labour MP Dame Emily Thornberry for almost two years.

Apparently, Dr. Lucey was showing up at Emily’s office and bombarding her staff with emails from December 2022 to October last year. Yikes!

There are also claims that she followed Emily around and had some pretty aggressive outbursts. Not cool at all.

Things got serious when Dr. Lucey was arrested at a Labour Party conference in Liverpool last September, where Emily was speaking. Talk about a dramatic scene!

Dame Emily has been representing Islington South and Finsbury since 2005 and is currently the chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee.

During her court appearance, Dr. Lucey, dressed in a striking red dress, denied the stalking charge, which involves causing serious alarm or distress.

The judge, Christopher Hehir, mentioned that this case needs to be handled by a high court judge because of its high-profile nature. Dr. Lucey was granted conditional bail, and they’ve set a trial date for May 6.
