Manchester: So, David Moyes just got awarded an OBE! Pretty cool, right? This honor is for all the good stuff he’s done in football.
Even though he’s not managing a team right now, his time at West Ham was pretty impressive. He led them to win the UEFA Europa Conference League and had some solid finishes in the Premier League.
Remember his time at Manchester United? It was a bit of a rollercoaster. He took over after Sir Alex Ferguson, but things didn’t go as planned. Just ten months in, he was out the door.
He had a tough first summer, too. The club was linked to big names like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, but they ended up signing Marouane Fellaini on deadline day. Ouch!
After United, he had a stint in Spain and a couple of runs with West Ham, where he finally snagged that European trophy. He’s had his ups and downs, but he’s still a well-known figure in Manchester.
In a recent chat, he admitted that his time at United was a failure and it’s something he regrets. It’s tough when you step into such a big role and things don’t work out.
Other sports stars like Tom Pidcock and Duncan Scott also got OBEs this year, so Moyes is in good company. It’s nice to see his contributions recognized, even if his time at United was rocky.
