Louisville: A former football coach from Florida got himself into some serious trouble. Tombe Juma-Kose Thomas, 35, was arrested after allegedly shooting at police officers. This all went down on a Saturday, and it’s quite a story.
According to reports, Thomas was staying at an Airbnb with his girlfriend when things took a wild turn. He thought she had brought someone unknown into their place, so he locked himself in the bathroom. The police were called to help out.
When the officers showed up, they knocked on the bathroom window and announced themselves. That’s when Thomas fired a shot through the window, just missing the officers. Talk about a close call!
Eventually, he came out with the gun and was taken into custody. He told the police it was just a “warning shot.” Not exactly the best way to handle things, right?
Before all this, Thomas was known for coaching football at several schools in Jefferson County. He had a pretty interesting background, having moved to the U.S. from South Sudan when he was just a kid. He even played college football at Syracuse!
It’s a shocking turn of events for someone who was once a respected coach. The community is definitely buzzing about this incident.
