Leigh: A former bank building in the heart of Leigh is getting a makeover. The 19th-century HSBC building on Bradshawgate will soon become a bar.

Leigh Means Business is behind this project, and they’ve got the green light from the council. Mrs. J Francis is the applicant, and she’s excited about the plans.

The building will feature a new shopfront, rooflights, and even a single-storey extension. They’ll also add a shipping container in the back for toilets.

A planning officer mentioned that the goal is to create an independent bar. This spot is right in the town center, making it a prime location.

The design aims for a sympathetic restoration, giving the vacant building a fresh start. They want to set a high standard for conservation in the area.

New grill shutters will be added in front of bi-folding doors, and the existing windows will be restored. It’s all about matching the original details to keep that classic look.
