Forfar: It’s a tough time for the folks at Forfar Library. They just found out that their donation box was stolen, and it’s really hit them hard.

ANGUSalive, the group that runs the library, said there was a break-in early Sunday morning. They shared the news on Facebook, and you could feel the sadness in their words.

They mentioned how important those donations are. They help keep so many services running, from delivering books to people who can’t get out, to maintaining mobile libraries in rural areas.

Last year, they even started a lend + mend service, where people can use sewing machines for free. It’s all about supporting the community.

They also teamed up with Macmillan Cancer Support to create a treatment room for those affected by cancer. The library is meant to be a safe haven for everyone.

Despite this setback, the library staff are determined to keep the doors open. They want to be there for the community, but they really need support right now.

Police Scotland is on the case, having received a report about the break-in around 9:15 am. They’re still looking into it, hoping to find out who did this.
