A foreign rapist who claimed he didn’t know it was wrong to assault a sleeping woman cannot be deported due to his bisexuality

London: So, there’s this wild case that’s been making waves. A guy, 41, who raped a woman at a party, claimed he didn’t know it was wrong because she was asleep. Crazy, right?
He got seven years back in 2018 but was released early in 2021. After that, the Home Office wanted to deport him, calling him a danger to society. But here’s the twist: he argued he couldn’t go back to Jamaica because he’s bisexual.
He told the tribunal that if he went back, he’d be targeted by gangs because of his sexuality. Apparently, he had a rough time in Jamaica before moving to the UK, facing attacks and even losing a partner to violence.
Despite the Home Office saying they only found evidence of him being with women since he arrived, the judge decided he had shown enough rehabilitation to stay. She even said he’d be at risk if sent back.
Some folks are really upset about this. Former security minister Sir John Hayes called it an insult to victims. The Home Office said they tried to deport him but lost in court. What a mess!
