People love walking along that canal, but now it’s a no-go zone. Some folks have even been stopping by to snap photos of the damage.
Cheshire East Council stepped in and shut down several paths for safety reasons. They’re working with other agencies to sort things out.
A spokesperson mentioned that they’ve put up notices in the area to keep everyone informed. The towpath is also closed, and they’re asking everyone to steer clear for now.
Initially, these closures will last for about 21 days, but they’ll keep checking the situation. They really want to make sure everyone stays safe.
