Manchester: So, here’s the scoop. Five guys are heading to court next month because of some wild driving at a car meet at the Trafford Centre. This all kicked off back on May 30, 2023, and the Greater Manchester Police have been on the case since then.
They’ve managed to bring charges against these five. Hanaan Akbar, who’s 22 and from Cheadle, is in hot water for causing a public nuisance, dangerous driving, and a few other serious charges. Not a good look!
Then there’s Shabbir Ahmed, also 22, from Sharston, who’s facing six counts of messing with justice. Muhammad Butt, 28, from Worsley, is in trouble for dangerous driving too. Adam Shepherd, 29, from Clitheroe, and Lewis Bailey, 22, from Warrington, are also charged with dangerous driving. They’ve all been released on bail for now.
Mark your calendars! Ahmed, Bailey, Butt, and Shepherd are due in front of the magistrates on Tuesday, February 18, while Akbar will show up a couple of days later on February 20.
The police say these arrests are part of a bigger effort to crack down on car meets in the area. They found evidence that some vehicles were breaking a Public Space Protection Order. So, it looks like they’re serious about keeping things in check!
