Oswestry: A section of Willow Street will close from February 17 to 21. This closure affects northbound traffic.
The closure is due to Severn Trent Water’s work. Shropshire Council warns it may cause delays for drivers.
Work hours are from 8 am to 5 pm. They will install a fire hydrant and a large sluice valve.
Residents and vehicles needing access to buildings on Willow Street can still enter. There will be exceptions for roadwork access too.
Shropshire Council stated that traffic can’t use Willow Street northbound from Castle Street junction.
Pedestrian access will remain open. Cyclists and dismounted horse riders can also pass through.
The planned diversion for northbound drivers takes about 16 minutes. It routes through Castle Street, B5069, and A5.
This diversion is just over eight miles long. Drivers should plan accordingly during this closure.
