Shildon: A fire erupted at 10:12 AM on January 13, inside the PM Racing Team shop on Church Street. It was quite a scene.
The County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service quickly got the call. They sent five fire engines and an aerial ladder to tackle the flames.
Firefighters worked hard and left the site around 1:45 PM. They made sure everything was safe before letting shop workers back in.
Luckily, it seems like the nearby properties didn’t suffer much damage. That’s a relief!
After the fire was under control, the firefighters stayed a bit longer to investigate what caused it. They wrapped up their work and removed the cordon by 1:35 PM.
Some motorbikes were salvaged from the wreckage, but the shop itself took a serious hit. It’s a tough loss for the community.
