Spalding County, Georgia, Jeremy Allen Munson, Jonathan Tyler Gilbert, Sydney Makayla Maughon, McKenzie Davenport

Spalding County: It’s been less than a year since a 22-year-old man lost his life in a tragic love triangle. Now, all three suspects involved have been sentenced.

The last one to face the music is Jeremy Allen Munson. He was just 18 when he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for the death of Jonathan Tyler Gilbert, also known as Tyler Lane.

So, here’s what went down. Munson, along with Sydney Maughon and McKenzie Davenport, went to a house on Dobbins Mill Road. Maughon was dating Gilbert, who was visiting another woman. Things got heated, and they intended to confront her.

When Gilbert showed up, Maughon pulled out a gun. It escalated quickly, with Maughon and Davenport throwing eggs and rocks at him. Just moments before the shooting, Maughon was urging someone to shoot Gilbert.

Gilbert, unarmed, approached their car, and that’s when Maughon took Munson’s gun and shot him twice. Davenport ran off to get help, while Maughon and Munson fled to her parents’ house.

They told Maughon’s dad what happened and handed over the gun, which he hid. Instead of calling the police, he told them to let the cops find them. They then went to work at Pizza Hut, but deputies tracked them down thanks to some clues left behind.

In the end, Munson got a 20-year sentence, plus five years of probation for having a gun during a felony. Maughon, on the other hand, was sentenced to life in prison with a chance for parole after 30 years. The DA expressed gratitude for the resolution, allowing the victim’s family to start healing.
