Ferryhill pervert sent indecent images to ’12-year-old girl’

Ferryhill: So, there’s this guy, Stephen Parkinson, who got into some serious trouble. He made friends with a girl on Snapchat, thinking she was just 12. But instead of being a decent human, he sent her some really inappropriate messages and images.

The court heard that he got a bit suspicious after a few days and even changed his account settings before deleting it altogether. But it was too late. The undercover officer had already been chatting with him, pretending to be the girl.

When the police caught up with him, they found some pretty disturbing stuff on his phone. Parkinson, who was living in Hartlepool at the time, ended up pleading guilty to a bunch of charges, including trying to engage in sexual communication with a minor.

His lawyer mentioned that he’s a dad himself and has been trying to get help for his behavior. The judge wasn’t having any of it, though. He got a 12-month prison sentence, but it’s suspended for two years.

Plus, he has to do a bunch of community service and attend rehabilitation sessions. He’s also got a curfew and has to register as a sex offender for ten years. It’s a serious wake-up call for him, that’s for sure.
