The FBI is looking into the travel history of the New Orleans truck attacker, including a trip to Ontario last year.
New Orleans, Ontario, Shamshud-Din Jabbar, FBI, Bourbon Street
New Orleans: So, the FBI is digging into this truck attack that happened on Bourbon Street. They found out that the guy behind it, Shamshud-Din Jabbar, took a trip to Ontario back in July 2023.
Special agent Lyonel Myrthil mentioned that the investigation is getting pretty serious, crossing state lines and even international borders. They’re trying to track Jabbar’s movements leading up to that tragic New Year’s attack that took 14 lives.
It turns out Jabbar was in Cairo for a couple of weeks before heading to Ontario on July 10. He was back in the U.S. just three days later. The agents are piecing together where he went and who he might have met during those trips.
They’re also looking into whether any of his travels are connected to the attack in New Orleans. Interestingly, Jabbar was in the city a couple of times in October and November, but no one knows why. He even checked out several gun stores in Texas before arriving in Louisiana on New Year’s Eve.
As for the Canadian authorities, they haven’t responded yet to questions about Jabbar’s travels to Canada. It’s a developing story, and everyone’s waiting for more details.
