Philadelphia: This week is going to be a bit wild for fantasy basketball managers. After a busy Monday, most teams will be off until Thursday, except for Milwaukee and Oklahoma City. This means you’ll have to make some tough choices, especially with key injuries popping up.
First up is Joel Embiid from the 76ers. He just came back from a knee injury but got hit in the face and now has a sinus fracture. He’s definitely out for Monday’s game against Charlotte, which is a bummer for his fantasy owners. Andre Drummond might be worth a look, but he’s not a must-add.
Then there’s Kristaps Porzingis from the Celtics. He hurt his heel or maybe his ankle during the game against Washington. He didn’t play in the second half but thinks he’ll be good to go for Thursday. Al Horford should be back too, so keep an eye on that situation.
Zach LaVine from the Bulls is questionable for Monday due to back spasms. He hasn’t missed a game since early November, but he didn’t look great last game. If he can’t go, Patrick Williams might step up, but he’s not a strong fantasy option.
Bradley Beal from the Suns is also struggling with a knee issue. He missed a couple of games, and while they hope he’ll be back for Thursday, it’s not a sure thing. Royce O’Neale has been filling in for him, so he’s a decent pickup.
Jared McCain from the 76ers is out indefinitely after tearing his meniscus. That’s a tough break for him. Kelly Oubre Jr. could be a good add in his place, but the rest of the options aren’t too appealing.
Tobias Harris from the Pistons hurt his thumb and won’t play against the Heat. Malik Beasley might be the best streaming option here, but it’s slim pickings. Ausar Thompson and Ron Holland could also get some minutes.
Kevin Huerter from the Kings sprained his shoulder and is doubtful for Monday. This could open up minutes for Keon Ellis, but he hasn’t been a great fantasy player this season.
In San Antonio, Keldon Johnson and Zach Collins missed the last game. Julian Champagnie is a better fantasy option if Johnson can’t play. And in Utah, Jordan Clarkson is dealing with plantar fasciitis and is questionable for Monday. Not much fantasy value there either.
Lastly, Nikola Jovic from the Heat is out for Monday’s game. Duncan Robinson might be the best streaming option, but he’s not a game-changer. It’s a tricky week for fantasy managers, so stay on top of those injury updates!
