Orlando: So, Scottie Barnes went down with an ankle injury during the game against the Knicks. The good news? His x-rays came back clean. But he might still be out for a bit. They’ll check on him again Tuesday. The Raptors have a game coming up on Thursday in Miami, and with only three games that day, it opens the door for some interesting pickups.
Davion Mitchell, who’s only 4% rostered in Yahoo leagues, is stepping up. He didn’t have a huge game last time, just eight points and a few assists, but he’s had some solid performances earlier this season. Jonathan Mogbo is another name to consider, but he’s a bit riskier. He took over for Barnes when he got hurt, but he hasn’t had enough minutes to really shine yet.
On Monday, there weren’t many players to grab since there was just one game. Rookie Ja’Kobe Walter scored a career-high 19 points, but he’s been inconsistent, so he’s not quite ready for a pickup yet.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, there are only two games, but if you want to maximize your roster, here are some players to think about. Cole Anthony is a good option since he’s been getting more minutes with some key players out. He scored 14 points in his last game, and he’s likely to be a big part of the offense.
Gary Trent Jr. is also heating up. He’s scored in double figures in 10 of his last 12 games, including a season-high 20 points recently. He’s starting to find his groove in Milwaukee.
Cason Wallace is worth a look too. He’s been getting a lot of starts lately and racking up steals. With OKC’s lineup shifting, he, Isaiah Joe, and Aaron Wiggins could all be solid streaming options.
Lastly, keep an eye on Naji Marshall. He’s been out with an illness but could start if PJ Washington is also out. He’s been a great fantasy player when he gets the chance to start.
