Manchester: You know how Manchester loves a good party, right? Well, they really outdid themselves this New Year’s Eve with a family rave that was a blast for all ages.

Factory International hosted a fun-filled event with dancing, games, and a killer playlist for the adults. It was the perfect way to ring in the new year!

The Playhouse Project took over Aviva Studios from 3:30 PM to 6 PM, making it super family-friendly. Everyone got to enjoy the music, including some great tracks from MC Kwasi, who often teams up with the legendary DJ Mr. Scruff.

There were stilt-walkers, giant balloons floating around, and kids were just loving it as foam rained down on the dance floor. It was pure joy!

Now that January is here, kids across Greater Manchester can dive into some free art activities inspired by the amazing David Hockney.

Aviva Studios, which used to be the Granada TV Studios, has been buzzing with events over the holidays. Kids can make puppets, create collages, and learn about perspective with talented artists.

They’ve got mono-printing sessions and even a chance to create a zine inspired by Hockney’s colorful techniques. And the best part? No need to book; it’s all free!

The activities run until January 18 and are based on the winter exhibition, David Hockney: Bigger & Closer (not smaller & further away).

Mark your calendars for upcoming sessions, like Arisha-Jane Marsh’s on January 12 and more mono-printing fun on January 11 and 18.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for kids to explore Hockney’s art in a fun, hands-on way.
