Family’s Anniversary Heartache for Much-Loved Dad Killed as Suspect Flees
On the tenth anniversary of Jon Casey’s murder, his family expresses deep sorrow over the ongoing lack of justice for their loss
Jon Casey, Waijs Dahir, Coventry, Northampton, UK
Northampton: A family is feeling heartbroken as they mark ten years since Jon Casey was tragically murdered. They shared their pain, saying it’s a sadness that’s hard to put into words.
Jon was stabbed near the Lazeez restaurant on Barrack Road back in January 2015. The main suspect, Waijs Dahir, is believed to have fled to Coventry right after the incident.
It’s thought that Dahir left Northampton just a day after Jon’s death and possibly went to Somalia or Kenya. Police are still looking for him and are asking anyone with information to step forward.
On this tough anniversary, Jon’s family released a heartfelt statement. They said, “Ten years without Jon, a partner, a son, a brother, and a daddy to two little girls, is a sadness beyond words.”
They also mentioned how the brutal way he was killed haunts them every day. The family feels that without justice, their grief remains heavy and hard to bear.
Detective Chief Inspector Johnny Campbell spoke about how Jon’s family still feels the pain of their loss as if it happened yesterday. He emphasized how loved Jon was and how many people miss him.
To help find Dahir, there’s a £35,000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to his arrest. If you know anything, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously or reach out to Northamptonshire Police directly.
