Family of Girl Killed in Jet Crash Says Our Hearts Are in Pieces
The family of Valentina Guzman Murillo mourns her loss after a tragic jet crash in Philadelphia that also claimed her mother’s life

Philadelphia: A tragic jet crash took the lives of an 11-year-old girl and her mother. Valentina Guzman Murillo and her mother, Lizeth Murillo Ozuna, were on a medical flight when the accident happened.
The Learjet 55 took off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. Just a minute into the flight, it burst into flames and crashed. Seven people died, including the pilot and co-pilot.
Valentina had just received medical treatment in the U.S. and was heading back to Mexico. Sadly, a motorist on the ground also lost their life, and several others were injured.
Fabi Guzman, a family member, shared a heartfelt message online. She thanked everyone for their support and asked for prayers during this painful time.
Shriners Children’s Philadelphia confirmed Valentina was a patient there. They expressed their heartbreak over the loss of Valentina and her mother.
Community members remembered Valentina as a brave fighter. A representative from Jet Rescue Air Ambulance praised her courage and determination.
Other victims’ families are also speaking out. One cousin shared that a family member is in a medically-induced coma after being injured on the ground.
A 10-year-old boy, Trey Howard, is recovering in the hospital after being hit by debris. His father said he protected his sister during the crash.
