Colwood: Today, a big crowd is expected at the Q Centre in Colwood, B.C. They’re coming together to celebrate the life of John Horgan, the former premier of British Columbia.
Horgan stepped down in November 2022 after five years in office. He left politics not long after and was named ambassador to Germany in November 2023.
Sadly, just eight months into that role, he revealed he was battling cancer for the third time. This time, it was thyroid cancer, following his previous fights with throat and bladder cancer.
He passed away on November 12 at the age of 65. The memorial will be held at the Q Centre, which can hold around 4,000 people, and it’s open to family, friends, and the public.
People who wanted to attend were asked to grab free tickets in advance. It’s a heartfelt gathering to remember a leader who made a significant impact.
