Wollongong: So, there’s this wild story coming out of Wollongong. A guy got charged for allegedly making a fake will to snag a multimillion-dollar estate. Can you believe it?
It all started back in January when police got called to a vacant estate in East Corrimal after someone reported a break-in. When they showed up, they found some pretty shady stuff.
Turns out, the cops think this guy created a will using stolen documents from the property. He was trying to get probate to claim the estate, which is worth around $4.5 million. That’s a lot of dough!
Fast forward about nine months, and the police did a search at the guy’s home. They found not just the original will but also a bunch of other stuff—two rifles, some gel blasters, drugs, cash, and even a jetski!
The guy, named Matthew Barnes, got arrested and is facing 27 charges, including making a false document. He was denied bail and is set to appear in court again soon.
Police say the fraud could be worth over $4.5 million, which includes four homes and two bank accounts. It’s a serious mess!
On top of the fraud charges, he’s also in hot water for having unauthorized firearms and being part of a criminal group. This whole situation is just crazy!
