Sydney: A British expat, Joshua Fox, had a wild experience at the Figure Eight Pools. He was enjoying a day out with friends when things took a turn.

They hiked down to the pools, which looked stunning. But suddenly, a massive wave hit them out of nowhere. Joshua said they were tossed around like rag dolls.

Luckily, they landed in the pool, which probably saved them from being swept out to sea. Joshua later said, “We could have died.”

After the incident, he ended up with a nasty cut on his foot that needed stitches. He admitted he should have been more careful, especially since he’s lived in Australia for over eight years.

Now, he’s urging others to be smart about safety. He wants everyone to check the tides and understand the risks before jumping in the water.

“No Instagram pic is worth risking your life,” he warned. The Figure Eight Pools are beautiful, but they can be dangerous if you’re not careful.
