Sydney: Moving to a new country can be a real eye-opener, right? For one Irish woman, Caz, living in Australia has come with its own set of challenges, especially when it comes to the postal service.

She recently vented her frustrations about Australia Post after a package from home went missing. Turns out, she’s not alone in feeling this way about the delivery system.

Caz took to TikTok to share her thoughts, saying, “The Australia Post system is absolutely bizarre.” She explained that if they try to deliver a package and you’re not home, they don’t leave a note. Instead, they just drop it at the local post office, expecting you to know it’s there.

She called it “madness” that this is how things work. Australia Post confirmed that they’ve stopped leaving those handwritten “sorry, we missed you” cards, which used to be a common sight.

Caz only found out about this change because her mum had sent her a package last year. When it didn’t arrive after three weeks, someone told her to check the post office. Sure enough, it was waiting for her there.

Now, she’s learned to always check the post office if she thinks a package should have arrived, even without any notification. Australia Post says you have three weeks to pick up your items before they’re sent back.

Many others are feeling the same way. One person commented on Caz’s video, saying they had to wait in line for ages just to collect their package. Caz agreed, noting that it seems like everyone is in the same boat.

Some folks mentioned they were home all day, yet their packages were still sent to the post office without any warning. It’s frustrating, to say the least.

On the flip side, a few people suggested downloading the Australia Post app to keep track of deliveries. They mentioned that they haven’t received slips in a long time, as everything is now managed through the app.

It’s clear that while the intention behind these changes might be good, many Australians are finding it anything but convenient.
