EXETER: So, guess what? Town Manager Russ Dean is sticking around for another year! The Select Board just gave him a thumbs up for a one-year contract extension.
This new deal kicks in on December 28 and runs until December 27, 2025. And get this, he’s getting a nice pay bump from $154,000 to about $161,792. Not too shabby!
Russ has been the town manager since 2005, which is quite a stretch. This is actually the second year in a row they’ve renewed his contract. They’re also planning to chat about a longer-term deal in the next six months.
Before this, he had a seven-year extension back in 2016. It’s pretty impressive to see someone stick around in one place for so long, right?
Originally from Stratham, Dean has held similar roles in Massachusetts before landing in Exeter. This extension marks his 20th year in the job, which is a big milestone!
Select Board Chair Niko Papakonstantis gave Dean a shout-out, saying it’s rare to see a town manager stay put for that long. He’s definitely made his mark!
Over the years, Dean has been involved in some major projects, like the Epping Road TIF District and the Great Dam Removal. He’s been a key player in shaping the community.
So, here’s to another year with Russ Dean at the helm!
