Exeter: Exeter City has made a big move by signing Angus MacDonald. He’s an experienced central defender who just joined on a short-term contract.
MacDonald, 32, will stay with the Grecians until the end of the 2024/25 season. He recently left Aberdeen, where he played 50 games, including eight in the Europa League.
He knows the club well. Assistant manager Kevin Nicholson once made him captain at Torquay United. MacDonald has also played for teams like Swindon Town and Hull City.
Manager Gary Caldwell believes MacDonald will help organize the defense. He said they need someone experienced to stop conceding too many goals.
Earlier, Exeter City also signed Ed Turns from Brighton on a two-and-a-half year deal. Turns has experience captaining the under-21 side.
They also brought in forward Andrew Oluwabori from Halifax Town. He’s expected to fill the gap left by Millenic Alli, who moved to Luton Town.
Oluwabori can play in various attacking positions and scored six goals in 27 appearances this season. He’s ready to make an impact.
These signings follow earlier loan moves for players like Alex Hartridge and Joel Colwill. Exeter is making strategic moves to strengthen their squad.
