Glasgow: So, it turns out that Steven Gerrard is pretty chill about his daughter Lilly-Ella expecting a baby with Liam Byrne, whose dad is a jailed gangster. He treats Liam just like anyone else, which is kind of refreshing.
Last week, Steven congratulated Lilly-Ella on her pregnancy after she shared the news online. Liam Byrne, her partner, is the son of a notorious criminal who’s currently serving time for weapons charges. But Steven seems excited about becoming a granddad.
Sources say that even though Liam’s family has a bit of a rough reputation, Steven is all in for this new chapter. Lilly-Ella, who’s 20, has been with Liam since late 2022, and Steven has called her the best person he’s ever met.
A family friend mentioned that both Steven and his wife were young parents when they had Lilly, so while this pregnancy might be a surprise, it’s not a huge shock for them. They’re a close-knit family and spend a lot of time together.
Steven even commented on Lilly’s social media post, saying he can’t wait for the baby and congratulating her. It’s unclear if he’s met Liam’s dad yet, but it seems like he’s ready to embrace this new role.
Liam Byrne Sr. was arrested in Spain and sentenced to five years for conspiracy to import firearms. He’s expected to serve only half of that time, so he might be out just in time for the baby’s christening.
Meanwhile, Steven is managing Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia and is looking forward to being a granddad while trying to keep his team out of the relegation zone. Exciting times ahead for the Gerrard family!
