Decatur: So, there’s this really disturbing case involving a former probation officer named Jodie King. She’s been charged with some serious stuff, including forcing a girl to sleep naked in a dog kennel with dogs. Can you believe that?

King, who’s 48, was already in hot water for child abuse in Morgan County. Now, she’s facing new charges in Lawrence County. It’s just awful. The indictment says she did some pretty horrific things, like hitting the girl and chaining her to a fence.

She worked in law enforcement for over 20 years and was a foster parent for about two decades. It’s shocking to think someone in that position could do such things. After her arrest, she was out on bond pretty quickly, which is a bit surprising given the nature of the charges.

There’s a lot of backstory here too. The biological mother of two of the kids involved said she had given custody to King a couple of years ago. It seems like DHR was involved in that process, but it raises questions about how this could happen.

In a twist, the kids were able to visit their mom’s sister, and that’s when they started talking about the abuse. It’s heartbreaking to think about what they went through. They reported it to the authorities, and it looks like they were finally removed from King’s care earlier this year.

King’s attorney claims she denies all the allegations, but it’s hard to see how this could end well for her. She’s now facing a new charge in Lawrence County and is being held on a $15,000 bond. It’s just a really sad situation all around.
