Evansville Police Shoot Man During Domestic Violence Incident
A man was shot by Evansville police after allegedly threatening his family during a domestic violence call
Evansville, Indiana, Domestic Violence, Police Shooting
The guy hasn’t been named yet, but he had to have surgery after the incident. The police said they’ll share his name and any charges later on. The officers involved are on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
When the police arrived, they found the man inside the house, and it sounds like things were pretty tense. A young child even ran out of the house but then went back in. The mom was outside with another little one, and the suspect was behind her. The officers told him to drop the weapon, but instead, he aimed it at them.
That’s when one of the officers took cover, and another one fired a shot, hitting the man. They got the family out safely and helped the guy until paramedics arrived.
The local news is trying to get more info, like body camera footage and 911 calls, to see what really went down. This is still a developing story, so we’ll have to keep an eye on it for updates.
