Southend: So, it looks like Essex Police are really ramping up their presence in Southend. They’ve been patrolling areas like Westcliff, Chalkwell, and Leigh because more folks are reporting their cars getting stolen.

These officers are out there in both uniform and plain clothes, keeping an eye out for any shady activity. They’re cruising around in marked police cars and also walking the streets to scare off any would-be thieves.

On top of that, the Stolen Vehicle Intelligence Unit is on the case. They’ve been doing a great job tackling organized vehicle crime. Last year, they managed to recover a whopping 669 stolen vehicles and busted 45 chop shops where stolen cars are dismantled for parts.

A spokesperson for the police said they’re always on the lookout for suspicious behavior. They encourage anyone who sees something off to report it. You can use their Digital 101 service online or call 999 if you witness a crime in action.

If you want to report something anonymously, you can reach out to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or visit their website. Stay safe out there!
